Statement of Purpose:

1. To develop a professional body that promotes and maintains excellence in herbalism.
2. To support high standards of ethics, integrity and professionalism in the education and practice of herbalism.
3. To promote and recognize the cooperation between herbalists and other health-care providers, encompassing traditional wisdom and knowledge, as well as current models.
4. To integrate herbalism into community and regional health-care.
5. To encourage the support and communication amongst herbalists and professional associations, nationally and internationally.
6. To assist in the development and implementation of any regulatory bodies of herbalism in British Columbia and/or Canada (eg: B.C. College of Herbalists).
7. To continue further research, education and study in the field of herbal medicine.
8. To encourage awareness and sensitivity in protecting our ecological environment.
